The Alexander and Buono Festival of Music celebrated its 22nd anniversary this year in the city of Abano Terme, Italy.
The Festival was held from July 3 through July 12, 2010. Among the many exciting events was the addition to the Voice Faculty of Russian soprano Yelena Dof-Donskaya, and Deirdre McArdle Manning to the Flute Faculty. Musicians and friends of classical music from around the world participated in the Festival, which included master classes by faculty members, as well as Messrs. Alexander (Voice) and Buono (Piano). Multiple concerts were given every evening by Festival participants. Optional sightseeing tours of nearby Venice and Padua, as well as the opportunity to see Verdi’s Aïda at the Arena di Verona, were also offered. The Festival also included daily seminars called “The Business of Music” that discussed how to sustain a solid and fulfilling classical music career.
